Scott Dontz is our March member spotlight! Scott is a Wealth Advisor and the Vice President of Business Development for Callesen Wealth Management. Read on for more about Scott and his company:

Callesen Wealth Management is an independent financial advisory firm since 1969. We hold these values in highest esteem: Education, Transparency, and Innovation. The financial services industry can be difficult to navigate, and it can be hard to figure out if your best interests are being served. Our firm operates with a fiduciary model which means we are obligated to put the best interest of our clients first. And we prefer it that way!

We believe a clear understanding of your current financial situation is vital to making prudent decisions about your financial future. Our staff takes a “hands on” approach to financial guidance and not only do clients find our team members knowledgeable, but they also discover that we truly care about making their goals a reality. We do everything in our power to keep our clients focused on where they want to go, advise them on how to get there, and continually remind them of the importance of maintaining a disciplined approach to investing.

How long have you been a member at Worklab?  2 Months

Favorite thing about working at Worklab:  The warm and welcoming attitude of fellow tenants and staff.

What do you like to do in your spare time?  All things outdoors in Northern Michigan, snowshoe, fish and make firewood are a few of my favorites.

What three business tips can you share with others?

  • A strong sense of self-awareness will enable you to effectively understand how others are reacting to you and therefore empower you to develop strong, lasting business relationships.
  • Under no circumstance comprise the trust others have in you; leaders who are not trusted are ineffective and will ultimately fail.
  • Take risks to achieve goals. Let no one hold you back and you will succeed.

How do you define success?  Success is found when others look to you for guidance and to share life experiences to assist them in their life’s journey decisions.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.  At best, I am a mediocre golfer BUT by sheer luck have made 2 hole-in-one shots. Both were with a 7 iron and both were on par 3 holes about 155 yards long.  My first was at the Manistee Golf and Country Club and my second at Arcadia Bluffs.
